Proper storage is essential for preserving the clarity, cleanliness, and long-term viability of mushroom spore syringes.
- Store unused spore syringes in their original mail packaging to protect them from light and temperature fluctuations.
- Keep them in a dark location, away from direct sunlight. A closet, drawer, or refrigerator works well.
- Stable temperatures are best. Not too hot and not too cold.
- Spore syringes can be stored at room temperature, but they will remain viable significantly longer when stored in the refrigerator.
- Refrigeration is ideal for extended storage, especially if you do not plan to begin microscopy research right away.
When stored properly, mushroom spore syringes typically remain viable for 9 months or longer, and in many cases much longer.
Important:
Do not freeze spore syringes. Freezing can damage both the spores and the syringe itself, making microscopy research difficult or impossible.
Generally, microscopy researchers will choose to use 1 – 1.5cc of specimen per research media (slide). Each spore syringe we sell is filled with 10cc-12cc of mushroom spores, which allows for 10 slides per research syringe. Example: IF you have 10+ slides you would need to use 2 mushroom spore syringes.
Yes! We generally ship most orders out within 24 hours (next day) of receiving payment unless the items you have ordered are on back-order or we receive your payment Friday-Saturday. We ship orders Monday through Friday and occasionally on Saturdays.
Most orders are shipped out of our headquarters in Illinois. We also ship some orders from our shipping office in Wyoming, depending on your geographic location. At certain times during the year, our lead time may be slightly longer, however, this information is communicated to you via email immediately after place an order.
All orders will read “processing” until the order ships at which point you will receive a completion email from us stating the item has shipped and will include a USPS or Fedex tracking number.
Unlike our multi-spore syringes, which is generally a mix of genetically unique spores (Or dozens of phenotypes) from the same variety, our isolated syringes contain a single genetically isolated mycelium clone taken from only high performing plates. This makes an isolated syringe a true single phenotype syringe. This means that research performed with our isolated spore syringes is typically more stable/consistent than research performed with multi-spore syringes. It is important to note that the shelf-life of isolated syringes is shorter than the shelf-life of multi-spore syringes.

The spores will sometimes look very different from one spore syringe to the next. This is due to a few factors.
There are over 150 different species of magic mushrooms and each of these mushrooms produces spores a little differently from one another. With some mushroom varieties, creating an excellent dark spore print is very easy and with other varieties, like Penis Envy, it is nearly impossible to get a good spore print so there is a different process we use to obtain Penis Envy Spores.
Due to these various characteristics, the spore syringes you receive from us will present in the following ways:
A. With about half of our spore syringes you will see dark black clumps of spores. These dark spore clumps will easily disperse throughout the syringe by gently shaking the syringe before use. If you do not shake the syringe before use, do not worry, as there are millions of nearly invisible spores throughout the entire syringe.
B. In most of our other spore syringes you will see visible dark black or brown spores sprinkled throughout the spore syringe solution.
C. In most of the varieties we carry you will always see the mushroom spores in the spore solution, however, sometimes the spores in the syringe are nearly invisible and it looks completely clear. Do not worry if this is the case, this is common with some varieties and if you hold up the syringe to a light, you will see the spores in the solution.
