Orissa India mushrooms are a well-established Psilocybe cubensis strain originally discovered in the eastern Indian state of Odisha (formerly Orissa). This lineage was first documented growing naturally in rural environments and later preserved by cultivators who recognized its vigorous genetics and reliable performance.

While some early reports described Orissa India as producing exceptionally large fruiting bodies, most modern cultivation experience shows it to be a balanced, medium-stature cubensis strain. Rather than extreme size, this variety is appreciated for its sturdy stems, broad caps, and strong structural integrity. The caps typically mature from caramel to golden-brown tones, flattening gracefully as they develop, while the spores darken to a rich purple-black at full maturity.
