Purple Mystic Mushrooms are a well-known Psilocybe cubensis variety originally documented in pastureland near East Plant City, Florida. This strain has been observed growing on both bovine and equine dung in subtropical environments and is recognized for its distinctive pigmentation and consistent morphological traits.

In the wild, Purple Mystic mushrooms are often identified by a subtle purple ring or banding near the cap margin, a feature that inspired the strain’s name. These visible characteristics, combined with its documented origin, have made Purple Mystics a popular subject for mycological study and classification.

Under microscopic examination, Purple Mystic spores display a deep purplish-brown coloration, a hallmark of Psilocybe cubensis. When prepared as multi-spore syringes, dense spore prints may impart a rich purple tint to the sterile solution. The spores are typically sub-ellipsoid in shape, measuring approximately 10–12 × 8 micrometers, and are produced on four-spored basidia, consistent with classic cubensis morphology.
