In nature, this is a prolific fruiting strain. It is an extremely fast colonizer with mycelium that tears through the substrate. One of the fastest colonizing strains around. It produces some nice, large, meaty fruits with the veil tending to be thicker at the cap causing it to tear from the stem most of the time. The stems tend to mostly be thicker at the bottom assuring a nice foundation for some of the giants this strain is capable of producing. This is the most common temperate Oyster mushroom. Depending on substrate, light and temperature, Pearly Oysters will vary in coloration from white to gray and brown. Generally, more intense light will produce a darker coloration. Pearl Oysters are an adaptable species that fruits easily on a wide range of substrates and are good candidates for recycling wood and paper waste into edible mushrooms. As with all Oyster mushrooms, Pearl Oysters need plenty of fresh air to develop normally. High carbon dioxide levels from mushroom metabolism will accumulate in sealed growing environments and can reduce cap size and elongate stems severely. Fruiting in open humidity chambers with frequent fresh air exchange will produce best possible yields. 
So many great things to say about this strain: it has nice super dense fruits which are small but firm, and has tissue which contains much less water than any cube we've studied. They don't shrink much upon drying and are hard as a rock when fully dry. Prolific fruiter and sensitive to light (will fruit with little to no light exposure). Great in-vitro strain. Volvariella volvacea (also known as straw mushroom or paddy straw mushroom) is an edible mushroom cultivated throughout East and Southeast Asia and used extensively in Asian cuisines. Morchella, the true morels, is a genus of edible mushrooms closely related to anatomically simpler cup fungi. These distinctive mushrooms appear honeycomb-like in that the upper portion is composed of a network of ridges with pits between them.

In nature this is a rather fast strain to colonize, and very easy to grow. A BEAUTIFUL mushroom always giving us BEAUTIFUL spotted caps, usually of a nice yellowish color rather than the typical cubensis golden tan color. It does exceptionally well cased, and will continue to flush over and over within a week of each other. Although not a giant sized mushroom, it produces an abundance of mushrooms . You can usually count on a minimum of 4 really good flushes from this strain, and sometimes more.
