This mushroom is picked around Mazatapec, Mexico.  Mazapatec spores are commonly recognized under magnification by their dark purple-brown coloration, smooth ellipsoid shape, and classic cubensis morphology.

Commonly used by the Mazatec peoples in shaman ceremonies, this mushroom is well known to deliver a very powerful spiritual journey. Mazapatez mushrooms produce prolific sporation, often turning caps a beautiful purplish-black color as they mature.
